The VALORANT Champions Tour (VCT) is officially underway and the first tournament of the year, Sacy Day, has begun. This marks the start of a new era for competitive VALORANT as teams from around the world compete for a chance to be crowned champions. The VCT is a global esports competition that will span across multiple regions and feature some of the best teams in each region. The tournament consists of four stages – Challengers, Masters, Showdown, and Finals – with each stage offering its own unique challenges and rewards. Teams that perform well in each stage will qualify for higher levels of competition and potentially earn their way into the VCT Finals where they can compete for a share of over $2 million USD in prize money. Sacy Day is an online event featuring teams from Europe and North America competing against one another in a double-elimination bracket format. Each team will play two matches per day over three days to determine who advances to the next round. At stake are spots at upcoming regional tournaments as well as bragging rights as one of the top VALORANT teams in their respective region. The action kicked off on April 16th with eight European teams competing for four spots at DreamHack Masters Spring 2021 while eight North American squads battled it out for two spots at PAX Arena Invitational 2 later this month. Fans have been tuning in to watch all the action unfold on Twitch, YouTube Gaming, Twitter, Facebook Gaming, and more platforms around the world.
