Sheriff Departments Across Florida Receive Appreciation

On a recent trip to Florida, it was an honor to meet with sheriffs from across the state and show my appreciation for all they do. The work of our sheriff departments in Florida has been vital to keeping crime rates at a 50-year low, down nearly 10% year-over-year. The sheriffs have worked hard to protect their communities and keep Floridians safe. They have implemented innovative strategies such as using technology to track criminals and prevent crime before it happens. They have also increased public outreach efforts by engaging with local schools and businesses, creating strong relationships between law enforcement and the community. The sheriffs’ dedication is inspiring, especially when considering the difficult challenges they face on a daily basis. In addition to fighting crime, they are often called upon in times of natural disasters or civil unrest. During these times, their leadership is invaluable in helping ensure that everyone remains safe and secure during these uncertain times. It was great to meet with these brave men and women who put their lives on the line every day for our safety. I want them to know that their hard work does not go unnoticed or unappreciated. We owe them a debt of gratitude for everything they do for our state and its citizens every single day.
