After a long and hard-fought trial, Jodi Arias has been found guilty of the murder of her ex-boyfriend, Travis Alexander. The jury deliberated for 15 hours before returning with their verdict. Arias had previously pleaded not guilty to the charges against her, claiming self-defense in the killing of Alexander. She was accused of shooting him multiple times and then stabbing him nearly 30 times in his own home back in 2008. The trial lasted for five months, with testimony from over 100 witnesses. Arias herself took the stand for 18 days during which she claimed that Alexander had abused her throughout their relationship and that she acted out of fear when she killed him. However, prosecutors argued that Arias was motivated by jealousy after finding out that Alexander had begun dating another woman shortly before his death. They also presented evidence showing that Arias had meticulously planned the murder and even purchased gas cans to help dispose of Alexander's body after he died. The jury ultimately found Arias guilty on all counts, including first-degree murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. This means that she will face life in prison without parole or possibly even the death penalty if prosecutors decide to pursue it further down the line. In response to this news, one individual who claims to have been following this case closely stated "Jodi Arias has stated that she follows me on Twitter so I really hate to be saying this but sadly, she is as guilty as it gets."
