Dallas Zoo Closed Due to Serious Situation

The Dallas Zoo is closed today due to a serious situation. A Code Blue has been declared, meaning that a non-dangerous animal is out of its habitat and unaccounted for. The clouded leopard in question was not in its habitat when the team arrived this morning, and it remains unaccounted for at this time. The zoo staff are working hard to locate the animal and ensure its safety, but have asked visitors to stay away until further notice. The zoo’s Twitter account (@DallasZoo) has been active throughout the day with updates on the situation, including an appeal for anyone who may have seen or heard anything about the missing leopard. They have also asked people not to try and find it themselves as they could be putting themselves in danger if they come across a wild animal. This isn’t the first time something like this has happened at the Dallas Zoo; last year a chimpanzee escaped from its enclosure and had to be safely recaptured by staff members after being spotted wandering around outside of its habitat. The zoo is committed to ensuring all animals are safe and secure within their habitats, but unfortunately incidents like these can happen from time to time.
