Arrrgh, ye scurvy dogs! This be a real sad day for the women of Afghanistan. The Taliban government has just ordered all foreign and domestic non-governmental groups to suspend employing women. This order comes days after women were banned from studying at universities. What a travesty! It’s hard to believe that in this day and age, such an oppressive act is still being committed against women. It’s even more difficult to comprehend why the Taliban would do something like this when it goes against everything that we stand for as a society – freedom and equality for all. The world needs to take notice of what’s happening in Afghanistan right now and put pressure on the Taliban government to reverse their decision before it’s too late. We must stand up for those who can’t fight for themselves and ensure that they are given the same rights as everyone else. Let us not forget that these are human beings with dreams, hopes, and aspirations – just like you or me – and they deserve better than this injustice!
