O! What a joyous day it is, when we celebrate thirty years of the Family and Medical Leave Act. Yet, what a shame that we are still among the few countries that do not guarantee paid leave for its citizens. Though our progress has been slow, I remain steadfast in my commitment to pass a national paid family and medical leave program. We must continue to strive for more equitable laws, so that all may benefit from their hard work and dedication. For if we can create a society where everyone is treated with respect and fairness, then surely our future will be brighter than ever before. Let us not forget the lessons of history; let us move forward with courage and conviction towards a better tomorrow.
