New York Prosecutors Investigate U.S. Rep.-elect George Santos After Lying About Heritage, Education and Professional Pedigree

New Yorkers were shocked to learn that their newly elected representative, George Santos, had lied about his heritage, education and professional pedigree during his campaign for office. In response to the revelations, New York prosecutors have launched an investigation into the Republican’s past. Santos was elected in November 2020 with a majority of the votes from his district in Queens County. However, since then numerous reports have surfaced claiming that he lied about being of Puerto Rican descent when he is actually from Colombia; falsely claimed to have a degree from Harvard University; and exaggerated his professional experience as a successful businessman.
