Apple May Discontinue Dynamic Island on iPhone 16 Pro

It looks like Apple may be phasing out the iconic Dynamic Island design for their upcoming iPhone 16 Pro. According to reports, only the higher-end Pro and Pro Max models will feature a camera hidden beneath the display in 2021. This could mean that all iPhone 17 models could have an embedded camera in the display. The dynamic island has been a staple of iPhones since its introduction with the X model back in 2017. The camera is located at the top of the phone, usually centered or slightly off-center, with a notch cut out of it to accommodate other sensors such as Face ID and TrueDepth cameras. It appears that Apple is looking to move away from this design by hiding the camera underneath the display, similar to what Samsung has done with its Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G and Note 20 Ultra 5G phones. This would give users more screen real estate while still allowing them to take pictures and videos without any obstruction from a physical camera lens. In addition to this, reports suggest that Apple may also be looking into embedding fingerprint sensors directly into their displays as well. This would allow users to unlock their phones without having to use facial recognition or passcodes. While these changes may not seem like much at first glance, they could signal a major shift in how we interact with our smartphones going forward.
