Junpei Miura, a resident of Japan, is one of only 22 people in the world to be certified as a professional Lego builder. His journey to this title began when he was just a child. From then on, his love for Legos never wavered. He recalls playing with them for hours on end and spending countless days building structures from his imagination. Miura has been building with Legos since he was five years old and has since gone on to create some amazing pieces of art out of the colorful plastic blocks. His most impressive work is a Lego City that took him over half a year to prepare and construct using 300,000 pieces! Despite the difficulty of such an undertaking, Miura completed it all by himself. His dedication and determination have paid off as he recently achieved professional builder status from The Lego Group. This honor comes after passing rigorous tests that assess both creativity and technical skill in building with Legos. It also requires builders to possess knowledge about the history of Lego products as well as safety standards for children’s playtime with them. The achievement is certainly something worth celebrating but Miura remains humble about it all saying “I don’t think I am special or anything like that…I just love Legos so much that I wanted to do my best at creating something beautiful out of them”. He hopes his story will inspire others who share his passion for Legos to never give up on their dreams no matter how hard they may seem at first glance.
