Local woman, Jane Doe, is proving that hard work and dedication to education can pay off. After spending the last five years working hard in the kitchen of a local restaurant, she has now graduated with her master’s degree. Doe started out as a dishwasher at the restaurant when she was just 18 years old. She quickly worked her way up to becoming head chef, while also taking classes at night to earn her degree. “I wanted to prove that I could do it all,” said Doe. “It wasn’t easy balancing my job and schoolwork but I knew if I put in the effort it would be worth it in the end.” After earning her degree, Doe has been able to make a successful transition from working in the kitchen to pursuing a career in her field of study. She credits much of her success to the support she received from both her employer and coworkers throughout her journey. “My boss was so understanding and encouraging throughout this process which made it easier for me to stay focused on my goals,” said Doe. Doe hopes that by sharing her story she can inspire others who may be facing similar struggles or are unsure about their future prospects after graduating college or university. “If you have a dream don’t let anything stop you from achieving it," said Doe "No matter how difficult things may seem just keep pushing forward because you never know what amazing opportunities await you."
