AI Revolutionizes Scholarly Writing

A HKUST librarian recently attempted to use Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology to write a scholarly article – though it was not successful due to lack of references – however several search engines/knowledge bases have been developed which could potentially make automated academic writing possible in the future!

In a groundbreaking development, a librarian at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) has attempted to use artificial intelligence (AI) to write scholarly articles. The results were promising, but not quite up to the mark. Despite this, the potential for AI to revolutionize scholarly writing is clear. AI technology has been advancing rapidly in recent years, with various applications being developed in fields such as healthcare and finance. Now, it appears that AI could be used to write scholarly articles as well. A HKUST librarian recently attempted to use AI technology to write a scholarly article, but unfortunately it did not meet expectations due to lack of references. However, there is still hope for using AI for scholarly writing. Several search engines and knowledge bases have been developed which can cite references from external sources automatically. For example, Webgpt and LaMDA are two such technologies which can already cite references from external sources automatically. Meta Galactica is another technology which can do so, although its web demo is currently down. Even unskilled users can load the library and run prompts with just three lines of code! Furthermore, there are other technologies available which could be used for this purpose as well - such as those built on GPT-3 and Semantic Scholar data - which can already write short literature summaries on top 4 results with ease. This shows that there is great potential for using AI in academic writing - if only we had access to more sophisticated tools! The possibilities offered by using AI in academic writing are exciting indeed - if we continue developing these technologies further then we may soon be able to create fully automated systems capable of producing high quality research papers without any human input whatsoever! This would revolutionize the way scholars work - allowing them more time for creative thinking rather than spending hours poring over tedious tasks like citing references or summarizing literature reviews!
