Ustaz Adli's Advice on Marriage Issues in Malaysia Fails to Bring Hope

Malaysia has seen a surge in marriage issues over the past few years, with many couples struggling to make their relationships work. In an effort to help, Ustaz Adli recently shared his advice on how couples can resolve their differences. Unfortunately, it appears that his words have failed to bring any hope or comfort for those who are facing difficulties in their marriages. Ustaz Adli’s advice was based on two points – “suami tak solat, tak layak dijadikan suami pun” and “suami kahwin lain, minta cerai”. While these points may be valid, they fail to address the root causes of marital problems in Malaysia today. The fact is that many Malaysian couples face issues such as financial instability, infidelity and lack of communication which cannot be solved simply by following religious teachings. Furthermore, Ustaz Adli’s advice fails to take into account the various cultural norms and expectations that are placed upon married couples in Malaysia. For example, it is not uncommon for women to be expected to take care of all household chores while men are expected to provide financially for the family – something which can lead to resentment and conflict between spouses if not addressed properly. It is clear that Ustaz Adli’s advice does not offer a comprehensive solution for marriage issues in Malaysia today. Couples who are facing difficulties must seek professional help from qualified counsellors or therapists if they wish to find a lasting resolution for their problems. Until then, we must continue searching for better ways of helping Malaysian couples find peace and harmony within their marriages.
