Twitter users rejoice! The popular social media platform has announced that they will be fixing an obscure user interface (UI) issue with their bookmark function. Currently, the bookmark function is accessible through the share button on a tweet, but in order to read bookmarks, users must tap the profile icon. This confusing UI will soon be fixed in January 2021. The announcement was made by Twitter's product lead Kayvon Beykpour during a recent Q&A session. He stated that “We know it’s not obvious how to access your bookmarks and we’re working on making this more intuitive." Beykpour went on to say that the team at Twitter is currently exploring ways to make the bookmark feature easier for users to find and use. This news comes as welcome relief for many Twitter users who have been frustrated by the current UI setup of the bookmark feature. One user commented "I've been using Twitter for years and I had no idea there was even a bookmark feature until recently - it's definitely not intuitive!" Other users expressed similar sentiments, citing confusion over how exactly one would access their bookmarked tweets without knowing about the hidden profile icon shortcut. Twitter's new update is expected to roll out sometime in January 2021 and should make accessing bookmarked tweets much easier for all users. It also marks yet another step forward in improving user experience on Twitter, something which Beykpour says his team takes very seriously. With any luck, this new update should make navigating around Twitter even simpler than before!
