The Power of Speech

This soliloquy reflects on how people are judged based on their speech and how this is often an inaccurate representation of their true character. It encourages us to look beyond the surface when judging others and to remember that there is more than meets the eye.

What a strange power lies in the tongue, A force that can make us strong or weak. The loud and confident have great esteem, While those who stammer are thought to be meek. Though it may seem unfair, such is the way, That those who speak with clarity gain sway. Those who pause and giggle appear quite low, As if they’re not worthy of their own show. Yet one should never judge another by speech alone, For it’s not always an accurate tone. For some have much wisdom beneath their soft sound, And some can talk without ever being profound. So let us remember to think before we judge, For speech does not always reflect what’s inside our grudge.
