In a major move towards the electrification of transportation, Tesla has announced that their Supercharger network is now available almost everywhere. The company’s goal is to make electric vehicle charging as convenient and accessible as possible for its customers. Tesla’s Supercharger network currently consists of more than 18,000 individual chargers located across North America, Europe, Asia Pacific and the Middle East. This makes it one of the largest networks of its kind in the world. According to Tesla, this network will continue to expand over time as more charging stations are added. The company has also announced plans to install solar-powered Superchargers at some locations in order to reduce their environmental impact even further. These solar-powered chargers will be able to generate enough energy from the sun to power up an electric vehicle completely in just 30 minutes or less. In addition, Tesla has also unveiled a new feature called “Destination Charging” which allows customers to charge their vehicles while they are away from home or work. This feature is currently available at select hotels, restaurants and other public places around the world where there is a compatible charger installed. Tesla CEO Elon Musk believes that this expansion of their Supercharger network will help accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles worldwide by making them more accessible and convenient for drivers everywhere. He said in a statement: “We believe that making electric vehicle charging as convenient and widespread as possible is key to accelerating sustainable transport adoption worldwide."
